~Psalms & Poetry~

 Oak in the light

A Psalm

Oh Father, Lord of Lords
and King of all things,
I bow before you
to seek your face.

For to seek you first in
all things is to bring you glory.
It lays all paths straight,
and brings your blessing
to the seeker.

Now, oh Lord, I feel my own breath,
how long will it linger?
I feel the heaviness of my own head
rocking upon my neck.
I feel the skakiness of my own hands
as I pray unto you.
Life is but a whisp of time
which no man's hand can grasp.

But you, oh Lord, can strengthen!
You, oh Lord, can refresh!
You, oh Lord, can raise up!
You can make all things new!

For by the power of your spirit
the acorn is brought forth
a mighty oak in the light.
Praise your name, that through you
the humble are made strong
to withstand many storms.

Strengthen me, oh God.
Lift me up once again
by your grace.

For in you I go from day to day,
and your faithfulness
never fails!

Amen

 Let Me Simply Love You

Let me simply love you
in the secret place
worship and adore you
dwelling in your grace

Let me simply love you
in my day to day
in service with compassion
to those along the way

Let me simply love you
with gratitude of heart
that never from your spirit
shall my life depart.

Let me simply love you
for all that you have done
forgiveness freely given
through your son's own blood.

Let me simply love you
with hands upraised rejoice
singing songs of freedom
in strong and steady voice.
